Acquisition electronics and software for a semiconductor test bench
Problem
A large semiconductor research center needed to modernize an aging test setup built around obsolete software, all while keeping their existing sensor hardware intact. The challenge was developing a fully compatible electronic control box and software layer without disrupting a proven sensing chain.
Solution
We designed the electronic control box around B&R industrial-grade components and a robust architecture built for longevity. Rather than imposing a fixed interface, we gave the customer full flexibility to define the HMI and functionalities, ensuring the final system matched their workflows exactly, not just the technical specification. We used C# and .NET to ensure longevity and best protection against obsolescence risks.
Result
Full system delivered in six months, and in daily use ever since. The solution proved reliable enough that the client is already evaluating additional units : the clearest possible validation of a successful deployment.
